Two Verbalise artists have fresh releases out this week.
6ix Toys are back after the massive Greg Wilson re-edit from last year with a new 7″ single. ‘Do Your Thing’ is a cover of the Bassment Jaxx classic and is an instant dancefloor destroyer. It’s backed with a low-slung groover in the shape of ‘Turner & Ride’ featuring Chicago-based MC Pugz Atoms (DJ Vadim, The Gent$).
Last but not least we have new signings in the shape of the fantastic Ariya Astrobeat Arkestra. Another product of the Leeds scene that has given us The Haggis Horns, Homecut, The Mastersounds and Andreya Triana, their debut 7″ features a firing afrobeat cover of Jimi Hendrix’s ‘Crosstown Traffic’. This is backed by their own ‘Lost in Kinshasa’; look out for more releases from the Ariya boys in the coming months, as well as their fantastic live shows (starting this Saturday supporting The Haggis Horns at Brixton’s Plan B).
